The Thorn-tailed Rayadito is quite common in the forests of Tierra del Fuego.
Each itinerary is designed to help you get the most birds for your buck in the time available. Some birds we have see include: Upland Goose, Kelp Goose, Austral Pygmy Owl, Tufted Tit-tyrant, Spectacled Duck, Flightless Steamer Duck, Magellanic Penguin, Black-chested Buzzard-eagle, Yellow-bridled Finch and the incredible Magellanic Woodpecker.
Extension #1: Arrive 1-Day Early Arrival (continental breakfast included)
Day 1 Ushuaia / Hotel Austral Ushuaia
Participants arrive from the USA throughout the day. Transfer via taxi from airport to Hotel Austral Ushuaia. The hotel is just minutes from the airport and sits two blocks from the main restaurant/shopping area of Ushuaia. Evening dinner on your own.
Day 2 Birding the Beagle Channel before boarding your ship
Breakfast at hotel (included) before being picked up for your morning cruise through the Beagle Channel to seek Kelp Goose, Magellanic Penguin, Dolphin Gull and more.
Return for lunch on your own before dpearting for your ship.
Extension #2: Arrive 2-Days Early Arrival (Some meals included)
Day 1 Ushuaia / Hotel Austral Ushuaia
Participants arrive from the USA throughout the day. Transfer via taxi from airport to Hotel Austral Ushuaia. The hotel is just minutes from the airport and sits two blocks from the main restaurant/shopping area of Ushuaia. Evening dinner on your own.
Day 2 Tierra del Fuego National Park / Hotel Austral Ushuaia
After breakfast at your hotel (included) you will be picked up for a full day of birding through Tierra del Fuego National Park's many incredible habitats. From Wetlands to forest we will seek Magellanic Woodpecker, Great Grebe, Austral Thrush and so much more. Lunch (included) will be at a local restaurant/deli. Dinner on your own in town.
Day 3 Birding the Beagle Channel before boarding your ship

Day 2 Mountain birding / Hotel Austral Ushuaia
After breakfast at your hotel (included) you will be picked up for a morning of birding in the mountains above Ushuaia. Travel via the tram into the mountains and bird along the mountan trails in search of Yellow-bridled Finch and other specialties. This is a more difficult trip with rough trails, but well worth the effort! Lunch will be picnic-style, carried with you on the trip. Mid-afternoon return to town and rest for a bit before dinner on your own in town.
Day 3 Tierra del Fuego National Park / Hotel Austral Ushuaia

You will be picked up at the pier upon your return to Ushuaia and depart immediately for Tierra del Fuego National Park. From Wetlands to forest we will seek Magellanic Woodpecker, Great Grebe, Austral Thrush and so much more. Lunch (included) will be at a local restaurant/deli. Dinner on your own in town.
Day 2 Departure to USA
Taxi's available at any time throughout the day for airport transfer.
